Paved With Gold in Berlin

Kaye was invited out to Berlin to represent Kickstarter at Re:Publica alongside long-time collaborator Jessica Guy. We presented a session on Money, Skills and Work - showcasing the breadth of the Distributed Design community and the synergies between the Kickstarter and the Distributed Design communities. We also shared top crowdfunding tips for launching a Design and Tech project on Kickstarter.

re:publica is a conference in Europe that deals with the Web 2.0, especially blogs, social media and information society. It annually takes place in May in Berlin. During three days talks and workshops about various topics are held, ranging from media and culture over politics and technology to entertainment.

While in Berlin, Kaye and Jess recorded an episode of Future Talks together, Fab Lab Barcelona’s regular podcast.

Kaye also presented a session at Motion:Lab Berlin as part of their Investor Readiness Summit to support their members on their start-up journey.

PWG x Kickstarter Glasgow Meetup

Thanks Bonnie for the photo.

Thanks Bonnie for the photo.

Last week we brought loads of makers + creators together to talk about their projects and share their Kickstarter experiences at the very first Glasgow Kickstarter Meetup.

We had talks from Heather Corcoran from Kickstarter, Danny Kane from Filament PD, and both Vanilla Inkers Kate Pickering + Scott McIntyre. They shared their Kickstarter experiences, and gave some absolutely smashing tips.

Two exciting makers; Curious Chip + Soundbops brought their prototypes along and it was great to see people sharing ideas and inventions.

The wonderful Vanilla Ink have turned their talk into a really handy (and honest) blog post and you can catch up on the rest on Twitter.

We're thinking about running these every six months or so, if you're interested in getting involved or have any feedback please get in touch and let us know. We are all ears, not literally that's just weird.

Woohoo! After an incredible month the Tech Will Save Us Mover Kit Campaign is complete!

We raised $129,311 with 1,822 backers, and were fully funded in Day 2 with incredible support from Kickstarter who made Mover Kit project of the day and a project we love. We also had support from incredible backers and an excited community of parents, makers, hackers and Kickstarter super backers.

We can't wait to see the Mover Kit reach thousands of people this Autumn.

Technology Will Save Us Mover Kit - Now on Kickstarter

We've been working with Technology Will Save Us since April 2015. Helping them grow their online audience and increase social activity across their profiles. Today we're delighted to announce the launch of their latest project on Kickstarter.

The Mover Kit is an intuitive way for kids ages 8 and over to learn the fundamentals of electronics, programming and solve problems creatively. It encourages kids to learn by doing what they do best - being active and playing!

We've launched with awesome features in Forbes, Wired Design and BoingBoing and Kickstarter Project We Love. It's only just beginning.
